Pseudogarantiana AmmoniteDescription: A fine example of an ammonite of the genus Pseudogarantiana from the Jurassic of Germany. Note the sharp ribbing and the excellent mouth border with lappet on this specimen. Lappets are flanges that protrude from the final chamber in front of the creature in adult male specimens and may have been used for sexual display. This fine example sits on a matrix pedestal which has a flattened base for self-display.
