Leptoceratops Dinosaur ToothDescription: This is fine rooted tooth of the certoppsian dinosaur Leptoceratops. Leptoceratops was a small, agile hornless creatopsian dinosaur that unlike most of its relatives was facultatively bipedal. It most likely ran from threats on its hind legs alone. The name Leptoceratops Letoceratops means “small-horned face”, a misnomer in that it is thought to have had no horns at all. This is a fine rooted tooth, and is rather large for the type. There is a single repaired crack which detracts but little from this most unusual specimen. Specimens of this taxon are rarely offered for sale, making this a most desirable example of this primitive ceratopsian dinosaur.
