Green River Formation Feather FossilDescription: The Green River Formation deposits of Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah are best known for their immaculately-preserved fish, but other examples are known as well, as this specimen attests. This is an example of a feather from an unknown bird. This is the largest example I have had in some while. There are repaired cracks, and the matrix has been glued to a thicker secondary matrix for reinforcement.
