Eryon arctiformis Lobster FossilDescription: Please allow me to preface this description with these remarks. This Eryon came from my friend’s personal collection. He only collected the finest example of any fossil he decided to acquire. Hence this fossil lobster is without doubt representing the most superb preservation and preparation available at the time of purchase.

As you can see, this fully mature adult specimen is a ventral view of the lobster. The specimen is 100% complete. Both pincer arms, walking legs, antennae, mouthparts and inner view of the abdomen and tail fin are fully displayed in minute detail. This is a stunning interior portrait of this long deceased decapod. The plate is sturdy and fully intact, with no cracks or repairs. The specimen has not been color enhanced. The amber honey color of the Eryon is natural.

These deposits were formed in a warm salt-water lagoon. All kinds of plants and animals were incredibly well preserved, including soft-bodied organisms and the world's most famous fossil Archaeopteryx, an early bird.
