Fossil Bee: A fine example of ventral preservation of a bee, most likely of the Carpenter, Digger, Bumblebee type in association with a member of the Order Diptera. The Green River Formation deposits of Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah are best known for their immaculately-preserved fish, but other examples are known as well, as this specimen attests. An exceptionalSpecimen by any standards, and one of the finest I have come across recently.
