Obscure Calymene Trilobite from Lorraine Shale

Calymene conradi

Trilobites Order Phacopida, Family Calymenidae

Geological Time: Late Ordovician

Size: Trilobite is 18 mm long

Fossil Site: Lorraine Shale, Lewis County, New York

Calymene conradi TrilobiteDescription: This trilobite is a bit obscure. To date, the only Calymenid trilobites known from the Lorraine shale are Flexicalymene granulosa and Calymene conradi. This one does not have the granulose carapace of Flexicalymene granulosa, so by default must be Calymene conradi.
