Dorypyge
swasii
Trilobite
Order Corynexochida, Family Dorypygidae
Geological
Time: Middle Cambrian
Size: 50
mm
Fossil Site:
Marjum Formation, Millard Co. Utah
Description:
A spectacular example of this rarely-offered spiny trilobite, this
one is stunning. Dorypyge is the patronymic genus of the Dorypygidae,
a sought-after family of trilobites from the western United States.
While you may be able to find a less expensive example, you would
be hard-put to find one better prepared than this one. Many hours
of exacting work went into this specimen, but you can see it was
well worth it.
