Homotelus bromidensis
Trilobite
Order Asaphida, Family Asaphidae
Geologic
Time: Ordovician, Blackriverian Stage
Size (25.4mm=1
inch): Plate size is 120 mm x 110mm Individual specimens average 35-45-mms.
The plate holds eight mostly complete specimens and about five partials.
Fossil Site:
Criner Hills, Carter County Oklahoma
Description:
These plates were relatively common a number of years ago. But,
like many other fossil specimens, they are readily available while
the site is active, and then rapidly become hard to find. These
are now becoming hard to find. I was also recently informed that
these multi-plates take an enormous amount of time to prepare. The
specimens are normally buried within a very hard limestone matrix.
Note the nice light chocolate color against the muted yellow background
matrix.
