Kingaspidoides brevifronsDescription: While Morocco is most famous for its Devonian trilobites, its history extends back to near the beginning of trilobite evolution with examples such as this one, a member of the Order Ptychopariida called Kingaspidoides. Note the presence of the occipital spine, a distinguishing feature of the genus. A rarely offered species, this one was identified for me by the premier West Coast collector of Moroccan trilobites, and would make an excellent addition to any collection of trilobites from the region.
