Ceraurus pleurexanthemus TrilobiteDescription: This plate displays a rarely seen example of a trilobite found in the Middle Ordovician, Neuville Formation, Grodines Member, Quebec, Canada. Canadian Ceraurus are amongst the most desirable of all trilobites to collect. They are spiny, 3D, and universally admired for their aesthetics and beauty. This one is no exception. Its presence speaks for itself. The bit of disarticulation between the cephalon and thorax takes little away from the specimen’s visual impact.

This magnificent specimen comes from a high-end collection I was privileged to acquire a small part of recently. The collector took great pride in the quality and aesthetics of every piece acquired.
