Well-preserved
examples of a member of the Order Phacopida, Family Phacopidae,
with fine preservation. These trilobites were prepared by Bob Carroll,
a world-renowned preparator of Oklahoma Devonian trilobites. Others
may use less care, resulting in a less desirable specimen. Many
trilobites from the region were once called Paciphacops, but this
one is differentiated from the genus Kainops by the smaller number
of eye facets. Due to time constraints, Bob chose not to prep “Pacis”
for the show this year, but he created a very few shadow boxes such
as this which contains a prone and enrolled example of the taxon.
The 195 mm by 145 mm by 60 mm shadow box is equipped with a hanger
for display of this fine example of his art.
