Description: This collectable plate exhibits one exceptionally well preserved brittle star. Extraordinary detail is preserved when examined with a hand lens.

These 150 million year old deposits are famous for their exceptionally well-preserved organisms, the most famous of which are the handful of specimens of the ancient bird Archaeopteryx. The deposits were formed in a warm salt-water lagoon. All kinds of plants and animals were incredibly well preserved, including soft-bodied organisms, insects and plants.
