Description: Most of us are familiar with the beautiful white prophyllite ferns on black matrix from St Clair, Pennsylvania. They are amongst the most collectable of fossil ferns. Generally the fronds fall apart when shed from the fern trees. Understandably, complete and partial fern fronds are desirable and highly coveted. This partial frond displays four single well-preserved fern leafs. To the best of my knowledge access to the large white fern plates is now difficult, or, highly restricted.
