Description:
The cutlassfishes are about 40 species of fish in the family Trichiuridae
(order Perciformes) found in seas throughout the world. Fish of
this family are long, slender, and generally steely blue or silver
in color, giving rise to their name. I am not aware if this is an
extinct species, though I believe it is. This is the first and only
one I have obtained from Poland. Please view the photo of the collecting
locality.
