Cysphaspis carrolli is a scarce, diminuative, Aulocopleurid trilobite (Order: Proetida; Suborder: Proetina; Superfamily: Aulacopleuroidea; Family Aulacopleuridae) and, Paciphacops campbelli is a common Phacopid (Order: Phacopida; Suborder: Phacopina; Superfamily: Phacopoidea; Family: Phacopidae) trilobite, both occuring in the Lower Devonian strata of Oklahoma. Cysphaspis carrolli was only recently described as a new species (Jour Paleo V. 71, No. 4, 1997). This fossil plate also has a 3rd partial, another Paciphacops. It is the typical superb quality that comes from the prep lab of Bob Carroll, and the Cysphaspis carrolli is named after this master preparator. This example has been meticulously prepared with modern equipment.

There is much variability in the quality of Oklahoma trilobites. Consider this specimen if you want the best (see pix below).
