This amber may be particularly appealing for those interested in the Kingdom of life, Plantae, since it contains 3 beautiful leaves of 22, 8 and 8 mm length; note the fine preservation and detailed venation in the large, 22 leaf. By my experience, a leaf such as this is perhaps found in 1 of several hundred pieces, and 3 leaves in one piece is, indeed, a rare occurence. There are also 7 insects among four insect orders represented: Homoptera; Hemiptera; Psocoptera and 4 different Dipterans. This amber measuring 64 by 50 mm is itself a plant fossil that has captured a piece of the dynamic interaction of life in an ancient rainforest. A beautiful, and fascinating specimen that could easily be the flagship of an amber collection.
