Fossil Amber CockroachDescription: The fossil amber contains as its key attraction a well-preserved, 9 mm long, cockroach. Cockroaches appeared during Mississippian-time, and have long since thrived and survived multiple extinctions with several thousand extant species, some growing to several inches in length. The amber specimen also contains 3 Dipterans and a small wasp (Hymenoptera). The specimen that is beautifully hand-polished is extremely clear and beautifully colored.
