Amber with cockroach, 5 dipterans and a rare, huge earwig

Amber (Earwig, Dipterans, Cockroach)

Age: Pleistocene to Pliocene

Size: 60 by 30 mm

Location: Foothills of the Andes Mountains, Colombia, South America

In handling thousands of pieces of amber, I have rarely seen an earwig, and never one so fine and, at 11 mm, so large. Also uncommon is such a well-preserved cockroach. Throw in five nice dipterans, with attractives bubbles, and you have a unique and impressive specimen of amber with a nice collection of insect inclusions.
