This is a massive Orthoceras display measuring some 2 by 2.5 feet. It is literally congested with Orthoceras cephalopod fossils that have been polished to render an exotic display. This plate would dominate the decorations of any room, be it home, office or office lobby.

This beautiful fossil display plate, carved out of Devonian limestone seafloor from the Sahara Desert presents a beautiful array of Orthoceras, a form of the extinct nautiloid. Orthoceras is a Nautiloid that appeared in the Silurian that is an ancestor to the modern day squid. Ranging in size from a few inches to over six feet long, they could either swim or crawl the ocean floor. The gray and black fossils fossils sharply contrast against the gray limestone matrix.
