Paradoxides Cambrian TrilobiteDescription: This striking trilobite is a member of the genus Paradoxides. The genus is known from North America, Europe, and North Africa, and houses some of the largest known trilobites. They are thought to have been predators, and by virtue of their size had few competitors other than others of their own kind. These dramatic trilobites are popular with collectors, but most (particularly the large ones) are highly restored composites. While this one has had some matrix repairs, it is essentially complete. The brick-red/orange color is natural, and contrasts well with the matrix, making for a dramatic display.
