Paralejurus dormitzeri Moroccan TrilobiteDescription: An example of a member of the Order Corynexochida, Family Thysanopeltidae known in the trade as Paralejurus Type B with many fine details present. The most diagnostic features of this taxon are the sharp genal spines and the distinctive squared-off cephalon with fine terrace lines. The more common Paralejurus dormitzieri has a rounded cephalon with much reduced genals. Preservation is excellent; even some of the fine eye factes are present. The streamlined shape of this trilobite is thought to have aided it in burrowing through the seafloor in search of a meal.
