Description: This fine ammonite is Endemoceras from the Lower Cretaceous of Germany. Some of the original shell is still present. Wher it is missing you can see some of the delicate suturing pattern. The sutures allowed for greater shell strength while saving on weight, and important feature for a creature that had to been able to freely move throughout the water column.
