Description: At 23 mm across, this plaque displays the largest spider I have had. There are several members of the Phoridae (Diptera). The common name for the Phoridae is scuttle fly, descriptive of their habit of scurrying about. There are many Stingless Bees present throughout this huge piece. Modern-day members of this group gather resin for construction material; perhaps this habit is why they are often seen as inclusions in amber. Bark Lice (Psocoptera), a Flying Termite (Isoptera), and a Tumbling Flower Beetle (Coleoptera, Mordellidae) are all present as well in this large amber specimen.
