Moth and Alate in fossil amberDescription: This plaque displays a very well-preserved moth with 10 mm wings, as well as an Alate (winged termite) as the most visible inclusions. Lepidoptera means "scale winged", an apt descriptor.

They accompanied by a trio of Beetles, including a 2 mm Weevil (Coleoptera, Curculionidae). Weevils are also commonly termed "snout beetles", a term easy to understand when this one is seen; they are the most numerous of the beetles. Several flies and midges represent the Diptera. The non-insect inclusion is a 3 mm spider, making for a diverse piece.
