Crocodile Fossil Description: This is a fine example of a jaw section from a crocodyliform thought to be Sarcosuchus. Sarcosuchus is not a crocodile, but a relation. The genus was named by Paul Sereno from material discovered in Niger. This 13 meter long monster was thought to have included dinosaurs on its menu. Notice the diagnostic texture of the bone evident in this fine specimen, as well as the good preservation of the enamel, making for a wonderful example of this rarely-seen Archosaur.
