Cysphaspis carrolli Oklahoma TrilobiteCysphaspis carrolli is a scarce, diminuative, Aulocopleurid trilobite (Order: Proetida; Suborder: Proetina; Superfamily: Aulacopleuroidea; Family Aulacopleuridae) trilobite occuring in the Lower Devonian strata of Oklahoma. Cysphaspis carrolli was only recently described as a new species (Jour Paleo V. 71, No. 4, 1997).

This killer Oklahoma trilobite was collected and prepared by the master Bob Carroll, for whom the species is named. At 10.5 mm, it is large for the species.

There is much variability in the quality of Oklahoma trilobites. Consider this Bob Carroll specimen if you want the very best (see pix below).
